Which cookies this site sets, what each one does, and why there is no consent banner.

What we set
Two cookies, both necessary for the site to work at all:

Why there is no banner
Consent banners exist because most sites set cookies that are not necessary — advertising, analytics, cross-site tracking — and the law requires permission for those.
We do not set any. Both cookies above are strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for, and asking permission for those would be asking permission to work at all. A banner here would be theatre: it would train you to click “accept” without reading, for a choice that does not exist.
If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask first, the answer will be a real choice, and declining will not degrade the site.
What we do not do
- No Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics.
- No advertising or remarketing pixels.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site tracking, and no data sold or shared with data brokers.
- No fingerprinting.
Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, including IP addresses, for 90 days. That is a server log, not a cookie, and it is not used to build a profile of you.
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. Blocking ours will break signing in and submitting forms — including donating and applying for assistance — because the security check those depend on cannot work without them. Reading the site will still be fine.
